   An updated and enhanced version of PortTruckPass (PTP), the Port of New York and New Jersey’s web-based Port Community System portal, is expected to launch by Nov. 19.
   The updated version, PTP 2.0, includes:
   • Terminal Information Portal System (TIPS) upgrades;
   • More streamlined features to research container and booking inquiries and vessel schedules;
   • New appointment modules and capabilities;

   • Information for all six container terminals;
   • And a mobile app.
   PTP was developed by the container terminal operators in the Port of New York and New Jersey in partnership with the Port Authority of NY & NJ in 2014. The port said it was the first common portal of its kind in the country allowing users — primarily truckers, beneficial cargo owners, shippers and NVOCCs — to more efficiently research information and plan activities associated with cargo transactions across multiple terminals.

The cheating and illegal subsidization, carried out by countries like China, India, the GCC and others, have created an uneven playing field for American primary aluminum producers. The Section 232 aluminum tariffs help level the playing field for American workers and restore an industry decimated by unfair foreign competition.
Spot container rates from Shanghai to Europe clocked in at $979 per TEU as of Jan. 11, while rates from Shanghai to the Mediterranean stood at $980 per TEU, both of which dropped 1.7 percent from a week prior, according to the Shanghai Containerized Freight Index.
