The International Trade Commission pushed back decisions on whether to institute Section 337 investigations because of the partial government shutdown.

 
The International Trade Commission has decided to extend by 35 days the deadlines for final determinations on whether to institute Section 337 investigations, after the government remained partially shut down for 35 days in December and January, the ITC announced.
    The ITC will extend deadlines until Monday for certain pocket lighters, Feb. 19 for certain pickup truck folding bed cover systems and components thereof and Feb. 28 both for certain dental and orthodontic scanners and software, as well as certain integrated circuits and products containing the same.
Beijing has long engaged in predatory economic behavior that unfairly penalizes U.S. goods. The president’s tariffs are a common sense remedy that has proven to be the only effective means of addressing Beijing’s ongoing IP theft and dumping of product.
The Port of Rotterdam handled a record 469 million metric tons of cargo in 2018 and expects throughput to “increase slightly” in 2019.
