Photector, previously known as PEIR, on Thursday announced a corporate rebrand and several key senior hires.
“We are excited about the corporate rebranding of Photector, strategic actions that go far beyond a name change from PEIR,” said Tom Burke, CEO of TCompanies, parent company of Photector. “These changes comprise a new brand identity that includes website and mobile app and user experience enhancements, as well as several key senior level new hires to move Photector forward. What remains unchanged is Photector’s ability to easily protect logistics and transportation companies from paying for shipping damage that they did not cause.”
    Photector’s key new hires are:
    • Neal Gehrig, senior director of sales. Gehrig brings 16 years’ experience in optimizing corporate sales potential. Most recently he was a director of sales for DigyInk. Previous experience includes serving as business development manager at Quadrant Information Systems, associate director at SocialSpring and sales manager at Centergistic Solutions.

   • Josh Evans, vice president of product. During his 15 years as a product leader, he has built, launched and grown multiple applications in multiple industries while working with companies of all sizes. Most recently he was product manager of security at Code42. Previous experience includes working as a solutions consultant at Delaget and as vice president of product development at Lorton Data Inc.
    • Bonnie Hanson as head of brand and marketing. Her more than 20 years of experience includes running her own consulting firm and serving as vice president of marketing at The Laundry Doctor, director of marketing and communications at Industrial Fabrics Association International and director of marketing at Schuler Shoes/New Balance Twin Cities.
    • Dan Holmoe, director of user experience and design. He joins Photector from Code42, for which he was a principal product designer. Previously he was a senior product designer for Bloom Health.
“The idea for Photector came to me shortly after selling our intermodal trucking company,” Burke said. “For all 10 years, I felt the monetary pain associated with not having evidence that we did not damage a piece of equipment that we received in interchange and were forced to pay for repair. At one point, it took two and a half full-time employees to research and handle all these damage claims, which was another cost that ate away at our bottom line.”
The company said Photector streamlines the inspection and documentation into an intuitive mobile app process. “Photector’s patent-pending process establishes a tamper-proof photographic record for the equipment being interchanged between parties and the record is provable with the blockchain.”
Cass Information Systems has hired Jeff Carlson (pictured above) as vice president of global sales and marketing for its freight audit and payment division.
Cass processed $28 billion in freight spend in 2018.
Carlson has served in several strategic management roles in his more than 20 years in the freight payment industry. While with U.S. Bank, he played a significant role in the development of key aspects of the PowerTrack solution, pricing model and marketing and sales processes. Most recently, he worked on the supply chain finance team to help build out aspects of that service offering.
Previously he served as a vice president of the technology, consumer products/retail and manufacturing industry verticals at freight payment provider Trax Technologies.

Our goal as always is to be sure that river is not the silent ‘R’ in transportation and that policymakers don’t just focus on roads, rail and runways.
