Bruun will spearhead corporate business development; oversee all operational and financial aspects of KVH’s mobile connectivity and inertial navigation businesses; lead financial planning and analysis; foster investor relations; and work toward organizational excellence across the global company.
Bruun, based at the company’s global headquarters in Middletown, R.I., joined KVH in early 2008 and served as executive vice president of the mobile broadband group, the company’s largest business unit. Prior to joining KVH, he was the senior vice president for satellite operator SES Americom.
Woodhead, based in the company’s Leeds, U.K., office, takes on leadership for EMEA, Asia and Americas commercial sales; global leisure sales; KVH Videotel and KVH Media Group; global sales operations; and product line management.
CHEP, an international pallet and container pooling services provider, on Tuesday appointed Jake Gilene to the role of senior vice president of sales and customer service for CHEP USA.
The position previously was held by Dan Martin, recently named president of IFCO North America.
Over the last 12 years with CHEP, Gilene has served in numerous customer-facing roles, including vice president of retail supply chain solutions and vice president of global business development.
Luc Smulders has been appointed secretary-general at the secretariat of the Paris Memorandum of Understanding (Paris MoU) on Port State Control.
A former naval officer and shipping inspector, Smulders moved to the maritime policy directorate in 2007. He later was appointed as coordinating policy adviser within the Maritime Affairs Directorate of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management and also served as the Netherlands’ alternate permanent representative to the International Maritime Organization.
