Crowley Maritime Corp. announced Monday that Sandra Goranovic has been promoted to vice president of finance and accounting for its Crowley Shipping business unit, which provides petroleum and chemical transportation, commercial ship management and crewing, offshore tug and barge services and ship assist and tanker escort services.
In her expanded role as part of the Crowley Shipping leadership team, Goranovic (pictured above) will direct the business unit’s finance and accounting strategies, practices and planning.
“Over the past year and half, we have consolidated four business lines under the Crowley Shipping business unit and added an additional one, Crowley Alaska Tanker LLC. Sandra and her team have been instrumental in getting the reorganization accomplished in very efficient fashion,” said Rob Grune, senior vice president and general manager. “We continue to look at new areas of growth and new ways to improve our performance. Sandra, along with the rest of the Crowley Shipping accounting and finance team, will be critical to accomplishing this growth.”
Goranovic, who most recently served as finance director for Crowley Shipping, will continue to be based in Jacksonville, Fla. She joined Crowley in 2011 as an internal auditor, then served as an analyst in its former salvage group, rising to senior analyst for its ship management group. In 2015, she was promoted to manager of accounting for offshore services, then became director of finance and planning for Crowley’s petroleum services group in 2016.
Khalfan Al Shueili, chief executive officer of Oman Aviation Services (OAS), has been elected to the board of The International Air Cargo Association (TIACA).
Al Shueili has headed up OAS, based at Muscat Airport in Oman, for the last 15 months. He previously spent more than seven years leading readiness operations for the Oman Airports Management Company during a period of expansion.
“TIACA brings together all sectors of the cargo supply chain and the addition of OAS means we now have more airport and ground-handling expertise as part of our board from this important growing region,” said Sebastiaan Scholte, chairman of TIACA and CEO of Jan de Rijk Logistics.
OAS signed a memorandum of understanding with TIACA in January, pledging to work with the association to promote air cargo growth in the Middle East.
