Crowley Maritime Corp. announced Tuesday two of its senior leaders will be changing roles.
The company has appointed Michael Roberts to serve as its senior vice president for government relations, and Parker Harrison will take over his role as senior vice president and general counsel.
Roberts (pictured above left), who relocated to Jacksonville, Fla. from Washington D.C., in 2008 to serve as the senior vice president and general counsel, will return to Washington for the new position. He has represented Crowley since 1991 and is one of the founding members of the American Maritime Partnership.
Harrison (pictured above right), formerly the senior vice president of procurement and risk management since 2015, will be based in Jacksonville. She joined Crowley in 2013 as the director of claims in the risk management department and joined the senior leadership team in 2018.

She is also the current president of the U.S. chapter of the Women's International Shipping and Trading Association.
MTC Logistics has promoted Andrew Janson to president, which took effect Monday.
Janson, who has served as the refrigerated warehousing and logistic provider’s chief operating officer since he joined in June, succeeded Brooks Royster, who will remain with MTC Logistics as the head of international supply chain solutions. The company announced a leadership transition plan last May for Janson to take over as president.
“I am fortunate to inherit a solid foundation from Brooks and I look forward to working to advance a culture where every teammate is appreciated and has the opportunity to add value every day,” Janson said. “I look forward to working with Brooks in his new role as vice president of international supply chain solutions, where he will continue to be a key resource for our new international distribution center coming online in 2020.”
Janson has 23 years of experience in the temperature-controlled supply chain industry. He was most recently the president and CEO of Hanson Logistics prior to joining MTC Logistics.
C.H. Robinson Worldwide has appointed Corporate Controller Scott Hagen as its interim chief financial officer while the company completes its search for a permanent CFO. Hagen has led the company’s accounting and financial reporting teams since 2008.
The Port of Longview has appointed Christian Clay as its director of business management.
Clay, who has more than 20 years of rail experience and was formerly the senior national account manager for Burlington Northern Santa Fe, will be responsible for developing long-range business plan and will manage the port's commercial property portfolio and tenant relations.

I really can’t think of a worse response to the myth of the driver solution than to reduce the driver age or reduce the already low standards to get a CDL.

The FBX, a global container freight index measuring spot rates on major global trades, had an overall reading of $1,342 per FEU as of June 14, down 1.5% from a week prior, but up 3.4% from a year prior.
