CSX 3Q profit lowered by domestic coal drop

   CSX Corp. had a profit of $455 million in the third quarter ending Sept. 28, 2 percent less than the $464 million it earned in the same 2011 period.    Because of share repurchases over the past year, earnings per share also rose 2 percent.    Revenue was $2.89 billion in the third quarter, down 2 percent from the same 2011 period.    “CSX continues to respond well to moderating economic conditions and challenges in our domestic coal business,” said...
