CTSA raises bunker charge, lowers CAF
Member lines of the Canada Transpacific Stabilization Agreement said Thursday they are raising their bunker surcharge in April.
It’s the first rise since January and represents a 5 percent increase.
   • For East Coast ports, the fuel recovery charge will be $581 per 20-foot container, $727 per 40-foot container, $817 per 40-foot high-cube container, and $920 per 45-foot container.
   • For West Coast ports, the charge will be $294 per 20-foot container, $368 per 40-foot container, $414 per 40-foot high-cube container, and $465 per 45-foot container.
The discussion agreement is, however, lowering its currency adjustment factor April 1 to 5 percent. It is 5 percent through February but is slated to rise to 6 percent in March.
CTSA member lines are APL, COSCO Container Lines, Evergreen, Hapag-Lloyd, Hyundai Merchant Marine, “K” Line, NYK Line, OOCL, Yang Ming and Zim Integrated Shipping Services.
