Stephen Berry, an attorney for the Los Angeles/Long Beach Harbor Employers Association, said Tuesday a vote on contracts for 14 employers and members of the International Longshore and Warehouse Union Local 63 Office Clerical Unit (OCU) is scheduled for next Wednesday.
Berry said he has been told OCU members will gather to vote on 16 contracts that have been negotiated with the association. Each employer has a separate contract with the union, some have two.
While employers and the union reached agreement on a new contract on Dec. 5, ending an eight-day strike, the two sides have been working out final details before next week's vote.
OCU members and the association negotiated for more than two and a half years. The new contract would extend through 2016. - Chris Dupin
