Verizon is enhancing its Field Force Manager and Fleet Control to help companies achieve greater returns when managing mobile workforces and their fleets out on the streets.
The company’s services now combine location management, cloud services, and tablet-optimized solutions for fleet operations. The additions include a new version of Verizon’s Field Force Manager, the company’s flagship management application for managing employees in the field and providing applications that work with 3G and 4G LTE smartphones, tablets, cards for laptops, and rugged barcode scanners.
Field Force Manager, developed with mobile workforce management company Xora and mobile solutions provider DecisionPoint Systems, pushes tools like electronic forms, location-based services, mobile timecards, and job dispatch to newly enabled devices.
Verizon has also upgraded its Fleet Control application that can be paired with tablets and company-specific applications for fleet and field operation management. This service was also developed in tandem with DecisionPoint, as well as mobile fleet optimization provider Xata, to develop a completely customizable enterprise tablet system. Goals of the system include monitoring vehicles and drivers, optimizing routes, simplifying driver inspections, managing speed and fuel consumption, and helping remain compliant with regulatory reporting requirements.
