UPS makes Canavan Asia-Pacific president

   UPS said Thursday it has appointed Brendan Canavan to president of the Asia-Pacific region, with responsibility for more than 40 countries and territories throughout Asia.    Canavan, who has been with UPS for 31 years, replaces Derek Woodward, who has returned to the United States to lead a major strategic project.
