U-Freight Singapore has launched ArtSafe at its logistics center at Singapore Changi Airport, gearing a portion of the facility toward the secure, climate-controlled storage of fine art, with the aim of launching a worldwide art-handling service.
Eventually, the ArtSafe program will evolve into a global team of art logistics experts, offering specialized packaging, temporary customs clearance, insurance, and air-ride transportation. The program will include the movement of fragile art to museums, art galleries, private collections and public display spaces.
"We appreciate the power and value of the arts, and fully understand that nothing short of spotless handling and respectful treatment is the only
appropriate treatment for works of art,” U-Freight Singapore’s TH Ong said in a statement. - Jon Ross
