Trimble Navigation has agreed to buy the privately-held logistics software provider TMW Systems for $335 million in cash.
TMW develops enterprise software for transportation and logistics companies that use its platform as a control tower to manage core operations, store data, run analytics, and automate business processes. The company, based in Beachwood, Ohio, has 500 employees and reported revenue of about $96 million for the past 12 months.
The deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter of this year.
Trimble, which makes surveying, mapping, positioning, and marine navigation equipment and software, also announced plans to buy Google’s SketchUp 3D modeling platform. - Geoff Whiting
