SynchroNet Intermodal Services has entered a multi-year agreement with Matson Logistics for a service partnership.
SynchroNet and Matson Logistics have worked together since April 2005 on a transactional basis for logistics services. The new agreement will expand the relationship to include mutual commitments for logistics services and increased data integration.
Both companies will supply and sub-lease containers to and from each other. Matson will also provide rail line-haul services, primarily on the CSX and BNSF railroads, to SynchroNet.
“Our agreement with Matson allows us to offer increased service capabilities to our customers through greater capacity, streamlined processes and competitive rates,” said Marc DiNapoli, SynchoNet’s managing director, in a statement.
SynchroNet provides North American repositioning services to handle surplus empty containers from inland locations to port cities through stack-train service and domestic interchange. Additionally, the company provides match-back capabilities through its street-turn and Export-in-a-Box services.
