Senators urged to embrace sugar reform

   The Coalition for Sugar Reform on Thursday praised a bipartisan group of senators for offering an amendment to the country’s sugar import policies.    The amendment to the 2012 Farm Bill — the Agriculture Reform, Food, and Jobs Act of 2012 (S. 3240) — under consideration this week in the U.S. Senate, would roll back the sugar program’s most onerous provisions, which were enacted as part of the 2008 Farm Bill.
