OIA Global, a Portland, Ore.-based transportation, supply chain management and packaging solutions provider, has acquired International Transport Services (ITS), a Cleveland-based provider of transportation, and warehousing and distribution services.
"This acquisition is a strategic, operational and cultural fit for our company," said Charlie Hornecker, OIA’s chief executive officer, in a statement.
OIA said the acquisition will expand its footprint in the Ohio region, specifically the Cleveland, Akron and Toledo areas, and allow for enhanced opportunities for import and export forwarding services, and warehousing and distribution services for its customers. ITS’ employees will become part of OIA.
Overall, the acquisition broadens OIA's network of owned offices from six to seven in the United States, and to 28 worldwide.
"We will continue to look for these types of acquisitions in the future, provided they are strategic to our business, help grow our brand, expand our global network while benefiting both companies and customers alike,” Hornecker said.
