   Higher fuel costs, weakness in the U.S. economy and the impact of Hurricane Sandy played a significant role in mixed second-quarter numbers for FedEx Corp. for fiscal year 2012.    Revenue in the second quarter for the company as a whole climbed 6 percent to $9.45 billion compared to $8.93 billion in 2011, while  operating income was $783 million, down 7 percent from $839 million a year earlier.
