The liner carrier Mediterranean Shipping Co. has rationalised its two Balbo-based feeder loops to the west coast of South America by combining them into one.
It has discontinued its three-ship average 3,631-TEUs "Chile" loop which called Arica, Coronel and Valparaiso, and added calls at Arica and Coronel to its "Andean" feeder service instead.
The weekly Andean loop has also added a forth vessel and increased roundtrip voyage time from 21 to 28 days.
MSC's single Andean feeder loop now operates with four vessels averaging 4,631 TEUs. Its new port rotation is Balboa, Buenaventura, Callao, Arica, Coronel, San Antonio and Balboa. - ComPair Data
