Holt completes N.J. renovation
Holt Logistics Corp. said it has completed a $2 million renovation at Gloucester Terminal in Gloucester City, New Jersey.
The improvements to a 60,000 square-foot cold storage facility were completed in
time for arrival of Chilean winter produce such as grapes, blueberries, peaches, nectarines, and plums.
Leo A. Holt, president of Gloucester Terminals, said the facility
makes the company "very well positioned to accommodate larger vessels
and greater varieties of perishable and non-perishable products that
will come to our port upon the completion of the Panama Canal widening
and Delaware River deepening.”
The “Box 5” facility where the improvements were made is equipped to
handle both traditional pallets of produce as well as taller high cube
pallets that are used with large shipping containers. The facility has
variable temperature controls that are able to accommodate all varieties
of fruit products and is equipped with USDA-approved cold treatment
equipment. The Gloucester Marine Terminal has more than 1.1 million
square feet of cold storage space.
