Hapag increases transatlantic rates

   Hapag-Lloyd said it would increase transatlantic freight rates on October 1.    Rates on eastbound cargo moving through ports on U.S. Gulf coast and the east coasts of Mexico, the U.S. and Canada (including U.S. cargo moving via Canadian ports) to North Europe and the Mediterranean will increase $200 for 20-foot containers and $300 for 40-foot containers.
