Florida stevedore expands to Port Everglades

Portus Stevedoring, a private company that operates a 25-acre marine terminal at the Port of Jacksonville, said Thursday it's expanding to Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., where it will invest more than $1 million in new technology and cargo-handling equipment. Holding company Portus Services LLC recently acquired St. Johns shipping, a longtime stevedore at Port Everglades that provides cargo services to customers such as Frontier Liner Services, Interocean and Trinit...
