Fire easing on stricken MSC ship

   A stricken Mediterranean Shipping Co. vessel is still ablaze in the Atlantic Ocean, according to an update from the carrier.    An explosion July 14 aboard the 6,732-TEU MSC Flaminia forced the crew to abandon the ship and led to the death of one crewman.    A firefighting tug was dispatched by the vessel’s German owner NSB Niederelbe Schiffahrtsges. mbH & Co.
