The U.S. Federal Maritime Commission has launched a redesigned Website
in an effort to improve the quality, clarity, and accessibility of information it provides to the shipping public.
The agency is also posting news on Twitter
It said the upgrade supports the goals of the 2010 Plain Writing Act and President Obama’s directive that government should be transparent, participatory, and collaborative. It is also designed to better inform and educate the public on issues such as how to locate a licensed, bonded international household-goods mover, or the services the FMC offers if problems arise with international ocean shipments.
Feedback on the new design can be submitted through the "Contact Us" link at the bottom of the Website.
