SBS Worldwide has appointed Chris Paulz as regional vice president for the U.S. Southeast, based in Atlanta.
Paulz has worked in freight transportation for more than 30 years, starting in Switzerland as a trainee, before heading to Panalpina in Nashville, Tenn., ending his 12-year tenure there as its branch manager and head of operations at its Atlanta location. He then joined Kuehne-Nagel as its business development manager before moving to Agility Global Logistics in a similar role.
Nils Pries Knudsen was named head of global cargo services at Swissport International.
Knudsen joined Swissport in January 2009 as senior vice president of cargo in Europe. Before joining the firm, he held various senior positions with SAS Cargo Group, DHL and Maersk.
Fort Worth, Texas-based logistics consulting firm TranSystems has appointed Ted Dalferes to vice president and client manager for its manufacturers and distributors business.
He will be responsible for business development, client services and growth strategies focusing on the company’s service offerings to U.S. food/beverage and consumer goods distributors.
DB Schenker Rail (U.K.) Ltd. has named Geoff Spencer as its new chief executive officer, effective Sept. 1.
He returns to the United Kingdom after three years as head of European resource management in the European DB Schenker Rail organization, based in Mainz, Germany.
