Ports America has promoted Chris Smith to vice president, where he will be responsible for the breakbulk, bulk, and military operations on the U.S. Atlantic, Gulf and West coasts for the company’s business unit Ports America Stevedoring.
Smith had served as Ports America Stevedoring vice president and chief financial officer since joining the firm in 2010. He has 22 years of finance and operations experience, including eight years at Alpharma as vice president and general manager of Canada and vice president of business development. Prior to that, Smith worked in finance and business development for 10 years at Honeywell.
“Chris’s experience and customer focus with greatly enhance Ports America’s on-going growth strategy for the general and military cargo sector,” Tom Perdue, Ports America Stevedoring president, said in a statement.
ICAT Logistics, an agency-based U.S. freight forwarder, has appointed Ann Bruno as its new vice president of international operations.
In this role, Bruno will be responsible for growing ICAT’s presence in key international markets, including Europe, Asia, and South America.
Prior to joining ICAT, she held several positions at TBB, including most recently as vice president of global trade. Bruno founded forwarder and customs broker Olimpex International in the mid-1980s and sold it to TBB in October 2004.
Helmut Kaspers has been appointed by Damco as its chief commercial officer for the Western Europe region.
His previous position was leading Logwin as member of the executive committee with a specific focus on ocean and air freight services. Kaspers also held senior management positions at Birkart Globistics Group, Kuehne & Nagel, and Dachser.
