Panalpina has promoted Rick Jordan to senior vice president and regional head of logistics for the Americas, he announced in an e-mail to industry colleagues.
He will be based in Miami. Jordan currently heads the forwarder’s supply chain management business in the United States.
FORTE, a Mason, Ohio-based supply chain software and consulting firm, has appointed Drew Forte to senior director of strategic account sales.
He joins FORTE from SST Bearing Corp., a manufacturer of bearings, chains, conveyor components and conveyor systems. In addition, Forte worked for Authentic Leadership in Cincinnati, the City of Lebanon and Sustain Brand. He also spent the early part of his career working for FORTE in a variety of roles, including director, supply chain and director, client services.
The International Bunker Industry Association has appointed Capt. Peter Hall as its new chief executive.
A former chief executive officer and harbor master of the Gibraltar Port Authority, Hall’s 40-year career in the shipping industry has included a range of roles including 18 years at sea, operations manager of a towing company and harbor master.
At IBIA, Hall replaces current chief executive, Cliff Brand, who has been head-hunted to be the marine director of the new King Abdullah Economic City Port in Saudi Arabia.
SPG International, a storage product and materials handling equipment manufacturer, has hired Dervin Taylor as corporate controller.
He comes to SPG from Solo Cup Co. and has worked in financial roles at International Seal, Lear Corp. and General Motors.
