New Jersey-based less-than-truckload carrier New Century Transportation has named Mark Olszewski president.
Olszewski has more than 25 years of transportation industry experience, starting with LTL carrier Roadway Express in 1983. While at Roadway Express, he held various management positions, including director of regional operations and vice president of the western division. Most recently, he was the senior executive responsible for the operation of YRC Reimer and YRC Mexico where he directed daily operations and sales functions for 35 locations throughout Canada, Mexico, and Puerto Rico.
New Century, which operates a fleet of more than 1,000 units, is part of Jefferies Capital Partners, a private equity investment firm.
In anticipation of Chief Executive Officer Peter Hartman’s retirement from KLM in January 2014, Camiel Eurlings has been elected to the position of president and CEO.
Eurlings will take over his new post on July 1. A former Dutch transport minister, he most recently served as managing director of KLM and executive vice president of Air France-KLM Cargo.
Baltimore-based customs broker and freight forwarder Samuel Shapiro & Co. promoted Robert Burdette to vice president of strategic development.
He began his career with broker K.C. Burdette and Co. in New York and worked for Fritz Cos. as regional export gateway manager in Charlotte, N.C., and Atlanta. Burdette joined Shapiro in 1999 as regional director of sales.
Preactor, a supply chain software solutions provider, appointed Sylvain Carrouee as global accounts manager.
Prior to that, Sylvain built up 12 years’ experience working with Preactor software. He joined French company Ouromoff Diffusion, which was a reseller of the Preactor suite of products, as an implementation consultant in 2001. When Ouromoff Diffusion was bought by Segula Conseil Industriel, he continued with the new firm as Preactor senior consultant. He then joined Preactor Europe, Preactor’s subsidiary, in 2010.
