The U.S. Export-Import Bank has a new group of members for its advisory committee, which will hold the first meeting of its fiscal year Wednesday in Washington.
The advisory committee, established by Congress, advises Ex-Im Bank on policies and programs, specifically on how much the bank provides competitive financing to support American jobs through exports.
The board’s 16 appointed members for 2014 include seven new members and nine returning members. The new members are Alan Fleischmann of Albright Stonebridge Group; Jenny Fulton of Miss Jenny's Pickles; Lisa Jo Howlett of Auburn Leather Co.; Gary Hufbauer of the Peterson Institute for International Economics; James Hughes of First Solar; Gwynne Shotwell of SpaceX; and Luis Ubiñas of the Ford Foundation.
Former governor of Washington state Christine Gregoire, a returning member, will chair the committee, which represents a variety of business areas and stakeholder groups, including small business, manufacturing, labor, services, finance and environmental organizations.
