The European Shippers Council has named Paola Lancellotti its new secretary general.
For the past six years she has been secretary general to the European Marine Equipment Council, and from 2001 to 2005 was director to the Short-Sea Shipping Council of Italy.
Denis Choumert, ESC's chairman, said: “it is an honor to welcome into the ESC such an accomplished individual, who will lead the ESC through an important time of growth for our organization. I am sure Paola will stamp her own particular style of leadership on this organization, necessary to increase our influence on the important issues affecting shippers today.”
Lancellotti succeeds Nicolette van der Jagt, who left the ESC to become director general of CLECAT, the European association for forwarding, logistics and customs services.
