Eastbound transpacific carriers seek large rate hikes

   The 15 shipping lines that are members of the Transpacific Stabilization Agreement (TSA) have adopted guideline rate and ancillary charge adjustments that they intend to apply to all new and renewed service contracts for cargo moving from Asia to the United States.    The group, which includes some of the largest carriers in the world, is recommending rate increases of $800 per 40-foot container (FEU) to the U.S. West Coast, $1,000 per FEU via all-water to the U.S. East and Gulf Coast...
