Drewry expects more sailing cancellations to come

   Drewry, the London-based maritime research and consulting company, said nearly 150 sailings by container carriers were cancelled on the transpacific and Asia-Europe routes between October 2012 and this February, and that "uncertain cargo growth to Europe and the U.S. will encourage ocean carriers to continue with short-term vessel capacity planning, which means more sailing cancellations to come    " The problem will be exacerbated as service upgrades enforced by newbuild deliveries ...
