DHL offers LCL barge transport from German port

   DHL Global Forwarding announced it will use barges to transport less-than-containerload shipments from the port of Bremen, Germany, to companies in Northern Germany, reducing its carbon emissions footprint by 62 percent.     Customers have had the option of switching from road to rail transport from Bremen since 2011, and this new decision adds another option to the mix.
