Chinese shoes found with lead contamination

U.S. Customs and Consumer Product Safety Commission investigators have seized a shipment of children's shoes from China for containing three times the legal limit of lead. The shipment was ordered by a distributor in the Seattle area and is valued at more than $23,000, according to Customs and Border Protection. Analysis of shipping and other data led investigators to target the shipment for an examination. Samples tested by the CPSC found excessive lead levels. ...
