The freight forwarder and logistics enterprise system developer CargoWise said Thursday it has entered a new distribution partnership with Sri Lanka-based Asvinta Solutions to enhance local delivery of its ediEnterprise system in the South Asian country.
Asvinta was founded in 2009 to supply Sri Lanka’s logistics and forwarding sector with IT solutions, based on a growing focus by the Sri Lankan government to turn the country into a regional logistics hub.
“We could see that opportunities in the logistics and supply chain sector were expanding rapidly, creating a vacuum in the market for information technology providers to service that space,” Asvinta director Roy Balasuriya said. “We went to market to look for partners with a well-established global presence that could deliver a complete solution for the supply chain industry, and really no software came close to ediEnterprise.
“(CargoWise’s) on-demand pricing model and hosted offering is ideally suited to the Sri Lankan customers because it removes much of the upfront and management costs usually associated with the implementation of new software,” he added. - Eric Johnson
