CEVA Logistics has opened a cold-chain facility targeted at the pharmaceutical industry at its Miami hub.
The development includes a 3,000-square-foot area for cargo that needs to be stored between 15 degrees and 25 degrees Celsius, and a 1,000-square-foot space for the storage of goods in a range spanning 2 degrees to 8 degrees Celsius.
The new facility is compliant with both Food and Drug Administration and Good Distribution Practice guidelines. CEVA’s new development complements its City of Pharma, a facility opened earlier this year in Stradella, Italy.
“CEVA already operates a global network of GDP hubs in Asia Pacific, Europe and the Americas. The opening of the Miami GDP hub gives CEVA the opportunity to provide even better solutions for our healthcare customers in general. The pick and pack facility specifically adds value in cold chain solutions into South America, ensuring complete compliance and product integrity from start to finish,” stated Sandro Knecht, the company's executive vice president of global consumer, retail and healthcare. - Jon Ross
