U.S. Customs and Border Protection will hold its annual Trade Symposium for an East Coast audience Sept. 27-28 in Washington, the agency announced Friday.
In the spring, CBP held a West Coast Trade Symposium in Long Beach, Calif.
It is the first time since its inception almost a decade ago that CBP has hosted bi-coastal events. Previously, CBP held the Trade Symposium every year in Washington. Officials said they wanted to give trade professionals on the West Coast a greater opportunity to listen to CBP's plans and provide feedback on CBP programs by making it easier and less costly to attend the conference.
No details about the East Coast Trade Symposium are available yet, but CBP said it will soon post registration and other information on its Website.
