Dirk Reich, an 18-year Kuehne + Nagel veteran, has stepped down as head of the contract logistics business unit at the logistics company, Kuehne + Nagel said.
In his place, Detlef Trefzger has been appointed to the board of directors, where he will be in charge of contract logistics, starting March 1. Reinhard Lange, K+N's CEO, will be in charge of contract logistics until Trefzger takes over.
Trefzger served on Schenker's executive board from 2004 to October of this year. During his time at Schenker, he oversaw contract logistics and supply chain management, and later assumed added responsibility for air and ocean freight. He started his career at Siemens.
“We are very pleased that Dr. Trefzger will join our group," K+N Chairman Karl Gernandt said in a statement. "In our industry, he is highly respected for his proven expertise and leadership skills. Contract Logistics is an important pillar of our company, and we are convinced that the further strategic development of this business unit will be in good hands with Dr. Trefzger.”
