APL increasing transatlantic rates

APL said it will implement a $500-per-TEU general rate increase on April 1. "During the course of 2012, APL’s transatlantic service has seen a significant decline in freight rates whilst costs have increased, resulting in an unsustainable financial performance," the Singapore carrier said.
