Non-vessel operating common carrier Shipco Transport has started two new less-than-containerload (LCL) services from China to North America.
The services linked Ningbo to Houston and Huangpu to New York. Shipco will use liner carrier Mediterranean Shipping Co. to offer a 20-day transit time to Houston and a 22-day transit time to Dallas from Ningbo. For the Huangpu-New York service, Shipco will use “K” Line to offer a weekly sailing from Huangpu with a 30-day transit time to New York.
“Shipco's main philosophy is to offer as many direct services as possible,” said Jesper Jepsen, vice president of LCL import USA. “This means less handling of the cargo and often better transit times.”
The neutral NVO said it plans to continue developing its services between Asia and the United States in the coming months.
With the addition of the new services, Shipco now offers 19 services from Ningbo and 98 direct services from China to the United States and Canada.
